  2. Take 2 - 1/2 Cups water ….
  3. Prepare 1 tomato … . Plump [ Chopped
  4. Make ready 1 Onion …. Medium [ Chopped
  5. Get 1 Green Chilli …. [ Finely Chopped
  6. Get 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder … .
  7. Make ready 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic paste … .
  8. Prepare 1/2 Tsp Chilly Red Powder … .

Instructions to make Lobia/Black Eyed Pea Curry:
  1. Boil the pre-soaked lentil in a pressure cooker with 2 cup water. 2 whistles on high flame and 2 whistles on low flame. Dont open until the steam has escaped.
  2. In a pan, heat oil. Add the hing, cumin and green chilly.
  3. Add the onions and sweat them.
  4. Now put in the tomatoes. Add a few tbsp water, reduce the flame to medium. Cover the lid and let it cook until the fat comes up [oil in this case.
  5. Add all the masala(s) and cook for 20 sec.
  6. Now add the lobia with the water it was cooked in.
  7. Cook it covered with a lid on medium flame for 5-7 min.
  8. Remove lid and let the water reduce to the level you like.
  9. Serve hot with chapati/bhakri/paratha.
