The vegetables that can be used to cook this soup are Efo Shoko or Efo Tete (Green Amaranth).

The ingredients needed to make Efo riro(ugwu):
  1. Make ready 1/2 cup palmoil
  2. Make ready 1 medium size onions
  3. Make ready Iru(locust beans)
  4. Take Crayfish
  5. Take Fried chicken
  6. Prepare Blended pepper (rodo,tatashe)
  7. Get Salt
  8. Prepare Maggi

Steps to make Efo riro(ugwu):
  1. Get your ingredients ready
  2. Put the palm oil in a dry pot,on medium heat,after it's hot a little,saute the onions for about a minute.
  3. The add your rinsed and stone free locust beans and saute slightly until it starts to give a nice smell
  4. Then add your blended pepper and stir. Cover and let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  5. After 2 min, add your salt,Maggi and any other spice you want to use and stir. Then add your fried chicken and crayfish (not Grounded),then cover and let it boil a little.
  6. Then add your already chopped and rinsed ugwu(do not wash with hot water because it removes the nutrients), cover and let simmer before steering.
  7. After it simmer,then steer.leave for another 20seconds.Then it's ready to serve
  8. Serve with your favorite swallow or rice.
