The ingredients needed to make Wholewheat Veg Momo:
  1. Prepare For dough-
  2. Take 1 cup wholewheat
  3. Get as per taste Salt
  4. Prepare as required Water
  5. Prepare as required Oil
  6. Prepare For stuffing-
  7. Take as required Thinly chopped cabbage
  8. Take 1 Grated carrot
  9. Make ready as required Garlic, green chillies and ginger minced
  10. Take Few Spring onions chopped
  11. Make ready As per taste Salt
  12. Prepare 1 tsp Black pepper powder
  13. Get 1 tsp Soy sauce
  14. Prepare 1 Lemon juice
  15. Get as required Oil

Its been years since I posted Vegetable momo recipe in my blog. Generally momos are made using maida/All purpose flour. But my MIL makes it using whole wheat flour as it is more healthy. So I too started making the same following my MIL.

Instructions to make Wholewheat Veg Momo:
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cabbage, minced garlic, green chillies and ginger. Add a pinch of salt and mix. Cook for two minutes.
  2. Add grated carrot and mix. Cook well.
  3. Now add chopped spring onions and mix well. Let cook for 40 secs. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice and little bit of soy sauce and mix. Take off heat.
  4. For the dough - - Take one cup atta. Add a pinch of salt and few drops of oil. Add water and knead it into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest.
  5. For making momo - - Roll the dough thin. Cut small circles. Put stuffing in the center of the circle, apply water around it and close it in the shape of a semi-circle. Now apply water on both ends of it and make both the ends of the semi-circle meet each other at the centre. You can make your own desired shape.
  6. For steaming - - Use momo steamer. - If you don't have it then, heat water in a large pot. Now grease a colander with little oil. Place momo's in it. Place the colander on top of the pot. Cover it using a lid. Let it cook for 10-15 mins or until done.
  7. Serve hot with Szechuwan sauce and mayonnaise.
