The ingredients needed to make Wheat Halwa:
  1. Make ready 1 cup wheat flour
  2. Take 1 cup sugar
  3. Make ready 3 cups water
  4. Prepare 3 tbsp caramelised sugar
  5. Get 1 cup ghee
  6. Take 10-12 cashewnuts
  7. Take 1 tbsp Cardamom powder

I was dreaming to make and post the recipe of godhi halwa since many years. In this video we will see how to make godhumai maavu halwa recipe in Tamil. This recipe is similar to that of Tirunelveli halwa but this halwa is made from g. Wheat flour halwa from scratch - I have posted Godhumai halwa made using Wheat flour.

Instructions to make Wheat Halwa:
  1. Take a cup of ghee and melt it. Add cashews and fry it till golden colour.
  2. Take out the cashews and put in in a plate. In the same pan take a cup of wheat flour and fry for few minutes till the colour changes.
  3. In another pan add a cup of sugar and water and let it boil together. Take an another pan and add 3 spoon of sugar and caramelise it.
  4. Now we need to add the sugar and water syrup on atta and mix it properly till atta becomes smooth and glossy texture and add caramelised sugar and mix it till it becomes golden colour
  5. Finally add cashews and cardamom powder and mix it.
  6. Halwa is ready to serve.

This recipe is similar to that of Tirunelveli halwa but this halwa is made from g. Wheat flour halwa from scratch - I have posted Godhumai halwa made using Wheat flour. This one is the halwa using wheat berries. Tirunelveli, is the town in Tamilnadu, famous for halwa. So we call this halwa as Tirunelveli halwa.
